Here are a couple of reference books that I have used. The first is a classic in pen and ink illustration: "Rendering in Pen and Ink" by Arthur L. Guptill. This book was first published in 1930 but has received a number of updates over the years. Subject matter ranges from buildings, to landscapes to still lifes.
The second and more modern reference I have used is "Sketching Your Favorite Subjects in pen & ink" by Claudia Nice.
Both books are available at Amazon.com, both new and used. I highly recommend either one to learn more about this subject.
